Illustrated colorized postcard view of Broadway looking south from 6th Street, circa early 1910s.

1910 - 1915 / Downtown Lorain

An illustrated colorized postcard view of Broadway Avenue looking south from 6th Street.
This appears to be a daytime view of Broadway. The Lorain Street Railway tracks are visible in the center of the postcard view. Several cars are parked on both sides of the street. Several flag buntings are draped on buildings on each side of the street, indicating that the postcard was illustrated during a national holiday. The postcard is labeled "Broadway, Looking South from 6th St, Lorain, Ohio."

The back of the postcard (unscanned) was canceled by a post office with the town name of "Newport" (state unreadable) and addressed to an individual named Mearl Jackson at Box 15, Foxcroft, Maine.

The message to Mearl from an individual named Fred is as follows: "Well Mearl I will send you a card --- --- (two words not readable) trust you are all well am going to Millie (?) tomorrow and (three words not readable) whether I will ...." The rest of the message is not readable.

The creator of the postcard is not known.
